Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 3, 2026
Auctorly is operated by Christian Casini as a small editorial-feedback tool for novelists. This page explains what data we collect, why, and who it's shared with.
What we collect
- Account information via Clerk (your name, email address, and a unique user identifier) when you sign in with Google.
- Manuscript content you upload — the PDF, parsed text, chapter structure, and any revisions you generate.
- Analysis output generated about your manuscript by the four-critic pipeline (findings, editor's letters).
- Basic usage logs (timestamps, IP addresses, error traces) used to operate and debug the service.
How we use it
Your data is used solely to provide Auctorly's service: storing your manuscript privately, running it through the analysis pipeline, returning results to you, and letting you iterate. We do not use your manuscript content to train models, market to you, or share with third parties beyond the service providers listed below.
Service providers we share data with
- Clerk (authentication) — receives your sign-in information.
- Anthropic (LLM provider) — receives manuscript text in order to run the analysis and revision passes. Anthropic processes the content to return critiques and rewrites and does not retain it for training under the API terms we operate under.
- Supabase (database) — stores manuscripts, analyses, and account records.
- Vercel and Render (hosting) — run the website and backend; receive request metadata.
Retention and deletion
We retain your manuscripts and analyses indefinitely while your account is active so you can revisit and iterate on them. You can delete individual manuscripts in the app, or contact us to delete your account and all associated data. Backups may persist for up to 30 days before being purged.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing the contact below. If you're in the EU/UK or California, you have the rights described in GDPR/CCPA respectively; we'll honor them on request.
Cookies
Auctorly uses session cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
If this policy changes meaningfully, we'll update the date at the top and notify signed-in users via email.
