Terms of Service
Last updated: May 3, 2026
By using Auctorly ("the service"), you agree to these terms. The service is operated by Christian Casini.
The service
Auctorly takes manuscripts uploaded by signed-in users, runs them through an automated editorial-feedback pipeline backed by large language models, and returns a synthesized editor's letter and, optionally, a revised draft. Output is generated by AI and should be reviewed by a human before being relied upon for any consequential decision.
Your account
You sign in via Google through Clerk. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. One person, one account; please don't share credentials.
Your content
You retain all rights to manuscripts and other content you upload. By uploading, you grant Auctorly a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you (including transmitting it to the LLM provider for analysis). We don't claim ownership of your work and don't use it to train models.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content you don't own or aren't authorized to process.
- Use the service to generate content that violates applicable law (defamatory, infringing, illegal, or used for harassment).
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scrape the service, or reverse-engineer it.
- Use the service to process the personal data of third parties without their consent.
AI-generated output
Auctorly's analyses and rewrites are generated by AI models and may be inaccurate, biased, or otherwise flawed. They're a starting point for your editorial decisions, not a substitute for professional editing or legal advice. You are responsible for what you do with the output.
Service availability and changes
Auctorly is provided "as is" and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued without notice. We don't guarantee uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator's total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you've paid for it in the prior twelve months (which, during the personal-use period, is zero). The service is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account and data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; meaningful changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date and signaled to signed-in users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
